About Us

Taking Dairy beyond Subsistence Mode

DHANII (Dairy Health and Nutrition Initiative of India Foundation) was established by Tata Trusts with the aim to transform the status of dairy farming in rural India and build it as a lucrative source of alternate income for local farmers, especially women. India, despite being the largest producer and consumer of milk and milk products, is yet to achieve the best of its potential in the dairy sector. The sector is facing some major challenges that include lack of proper knowledge, shortage of inputs and unorganized market. To bridge the existing gap, DHANII, in collaboration with National Dairy Services (NDS), is mobilizing and educating farmers to establish dairy as a reliable and sustainable source of income.

Our Work

Our team of experts works in close association with the dairy farmers across five locations in four Indian states. By effectively engaging with farmers and providing them with necessary support, DHANII has successfully helped establish five Milk Producer Companies till date.
